knitting!!
Aug. 7th, 2006 08:42 pmWho would have believed it? An actual knitting post. I know, it has been a while.
I took the forever UFO away with me this weekend, only to realize that I needed the other piece of it in order to complete it. BAH! Well at least it forced me to figure out where I am on it, and I wrote it down so I won't forget. It turns out, I only need a couple of inches on each shoulder:
I think this week after work I will finish that off.
But I was not done with my knitting after that set-back. No, no. I had brought back-up yarn. A small ball to make a dishrag. Not a big project, but a project nonetheless. AND, I finished it.
This is some cool yarn that
jickymcjickster got for me in Canada, I think (maybe he will post the store details). It is actually single threads of different colors that have been twisted together. I did this one looser than my normal rags, I knit it on 11s.
Then, I come home today to another AWESOME package from my SP8! Lookey!
That's a pattern for fingerless gloves "mitts" that look like a good way to ease into glove knitting, a pattern for hats and scarves out of Sassy Stripes - which there are also two skeins of in really nice colors. They are muted and yet not at all dull. Also a skein of green and purples, really lovely and I think I have a project in mind for it already, knitting it with a solid yarn. TAHNK YOU SP - great items once again.
