It is gorgeous, sunny, lovely and awesome outside today. After church I walked down 5th Avenue. I did some window shopping, even popped in a few stores and tried on things, but nothing took. After 10 block (half a mile) I turned west and headed towards my destination, BB&B. On the block I ran into
saguaro and bobbob and joined them for brunch, which was lovely.
My journey to BB&B after brunch was fruitful. so fruitful in fact that I bought 2 of these. I now love these things. My load was not really heavy, but it was cumbersome. I bought 8 pillows, a bathroom scale, and 2 household thingies. The pillows are for my big comfy chair which lives in my living room. My living room has two pieces to sit on: the couch, or the big comfy chair. I sit in the chair 90% of the time. Now both these pieces wer bought second hand and not only did they not match each opther, neither really matched the room. As we all do when on a budget, I have lived with it.
I have had plans for both pieces almost since I got them. In fact I have the fabric to make a slipcover for the couch (it's been waiting to be made for over 2 years). Sometime last year I decided to buy a slipcover for the chair. It is not a standard sized chair, so it was a little difficult. After a couple of covers had to be returned, I finally ordered one offline for a chair bigger than this one. It has worked well, but the pillows that serve as the back of the chair were not covered. They do not make slipcovers for pillows, and so the non-matching pillows stayed. That is UNTIL TODAY!
So here I give you before:
and after:
2 of the pillows I bought today are not on the chair. 1 is the same piloow as the back one on the chair. That will be a floor pillow for the living room. The other is a bolster pillow in purple that I got for me bed. I had already started the throw pillow work on my bed. Here is how it looks:
The king sized pillow in the back still has a sham to be sewn for it in shades of green and then I have two small rectangle pillows that I am going to cover with some pretty sillks in orangey-red prints taht I got from the local sari shops. Fabrics:
